Special Exhibition of Kim Eunseok's Donated Collection about photographic scenes of a funeral ceremony in south Chungcheong province, so called Chungnam
A commemorate of the year of Chungnam Folk Culture 2010, the National Folk Museum of Korea presents a photo exhibition of The Memory of warm farewell. This photographic exhibition is made possible through the generous donation of Kim, Eonseok. These photographs in display keep alive the moment of the funeral rite of Kim Heungtae died in 1961.
All funeral rite photos here were taken in 1960 before the Family Rite Standards Reform announced in 1969. This means those photos offer an opportunity to see the full funeral rite in the traditional way.
In addition, there is other funeral related materials for keeping the records of funeral and personal belongs of dead Kim Heungtae displaying along with photographs. Those personal items offer the better idea of dead one's life, funeral custom in 1960's and in the region of Taean.
